WHO CAN TELL?

Out of the Fortune Cookie box comes an assortment of stories about prophecies and predictions, fate and fortune.

But who can tell which stories will be told?

With the aid of the Fortune Cookie Box the audience will decide……

DAVID AMBROSE

David Ambrose is a performance storyteller, singer and promoter who has been at the forefront of the storytelling revival in Wales for the past 30 years.

In the 1970’s David toured the UK as a member of Hull Truck Theatre Co before moving to Wales in the 1980’s to become Director of St Donats Arts Centre. In 1993 he co-founded Beyond The Border, Wales’ leading international festival of storytelling, which he directed for 25 years until 2018. He is also a founder member of Tales From Beyond The Border Storytelling Company with Megan Lloyd and Francis Maxey.

As a performance storyteller, he works regularly in theatres and village halls, community centres and castles, parks, libraries and schools across Wales, as well as appearing at international festivals around the world, telling stories to audiences of all ages, from Primary School children to Senior Citizens.

An engaging performer with a varied repertoire of traditional tales from Wales and the World, David Ambrose employs a lively physical style linked to a rich use of English language.

David is also an experienced host of Storytelling Circles and welcomes the opportunity to sit round a hearth or a campfire and exchange stories and songs with anyone who has a tale to share….
